RAINBOWS

We've been having a warmer than normal winter so  far.
This week is frigid.
Yesterday, Sunday January 10, 2016, it was warm - upper 40's to low 50's. YAY!!!
It was raining at times, and drizzling at times.

The sun started peeking out around 11am, with a drizzle. then...
RAINBOW!!!

As we traveled from Plains by the river, past Wilkes-Barre,
there were some dramatic clouds in the clearing sky.

Early afternoon, here's the SECOND STUNNING RAINBOW!
Looking through the barren winter branches in the back yard.

Weather drama

After missing most of the snow and stormy weather this winter season, we're getting some snow now that is actually sticking to the ground, here in NE PA, USA.

BEAUTIFUL!

Stay safe out there! The photo is a different day,, still as exhilarating as any beautiful wonder of nature!

Early Fall Colored Leaves

This past Labor Day weekend, and early Sept, I saw the first hints of color in our area. We are near the Poconos in NE PA, and people from other states/areas come here to see the Fall Leaves changing color.
Here are a few early views, all within approximately 1/2 hour drive of my mountain.

Below is a pond with an early fallen leave floating among the drops of rain falling from an overhanging branch just after a late-afternoon thunderstorm.

Below is a sunny view at Nesbitt Park, across the river from Wilkes-Barre, on the west side.

Here's a link that gives more information about PA and Fall foliage. http://www.visitpa.com/season/fall

Mountains and late-Summer flowers, approximately 1/2 hour away.
I visitt this way often and love the sunsets from this viewpoint as well. AHHHHH!

This is my 2nd post in my ... I guess you can call it a diary.... of the mountain. It's also in early June, as a storm was approaching late afternoon. Dramatic! The wind was kicking up and you can see the storm clouds gathering, moving quickly towards us minutes before the rain reaches our side of the river. A closeup is at
