A few days ago, while we were crossing the Susquehanna River on the CrossValley (Rt 309) ,
I saw a large hawk of some sort flying alongside, but down near the water. As I scrambled to get my camera out, it, rose... flew beside us, then rose up over the car. I remember how we used to watch hawks soaring in the sky as kids with Dad. This is the only shot I got - still a YAY day! :-)
The next day I saw an eagle in the same area. It was flying high enough to clear the cars,
but had to climb up quickly, about 4 more feet, to soar over a truck.
You can get lost in the beautiful VARIETY IN NATURE right outside your window. Mine is the Wyoming Valley, in NEPA (Northeast PA) ENJOY! ~ This deceptively simple view speaks volumes: it endures - a creation of beauty in its reality. *some photos available at http://christina-verdgeline.pixels.com/

The Plane! The Plane!
There is a smaller local airport on the other side of the
river. On beautiful sunny days it’s very pleasurable to hear the distant drone
of a plane gearing up to fly up into the air, then you see it climbing up into
the air in front of the mountain, and
finally soaring across the sky as though it’s chasing the clouds. Sometimes it
turns and flies overhead, other times it disappears in the distance behind the
mt, becoming an increasingly smaller speck.
After a bit of time passes, there’s the distant drone…
One day in mid-May, I was walking on the levee along the
Susquehanna river near the airport. Had the opportunity to see one plane as it
was preparing to land. It’s exhilarating to see one of those seemingly “tiny”
aircraft at such a much closer proximity.
